of subiaco
The Space
SPACEMRKT’s Rokeby activation is a street-level revitalisation project delivered in partnership with Human Urban and the City of Subiaco. Focused on creatively reoccupying vacant shopfronts along Rokeby Road, the project features a rotating program of exhibitions, installations, and pop-ups that showcase local artists and makers.
By transforming underutilised spaces into cultural platforms, SPACEMRKT is building momentum for long-term precinct renewal while supporting local enterprise and increasing foot traffic in the town centre. Visitors are invited to stop in, explore the exhibitions, and engage with the artists as they work.
The Impact
Through the Rokeby activation, SPACEMRKT has demonstrated how temporary creative interventions can activate empty commercial spaces, attract people to the precinct, and support local creatives. The City of Subiaco highlighted the value of the program in replacing empty windows with art, visitation, and vibrancy, setting a strong precedent for future activations along Rokeby Road.
